New York street artist Katie Sokoler knows that there is no need to spend lots of money when it comes to decorating the walls of your home when you can just do it yourself!
It’s as simple as just buying your own brightly colored poster board paper, cutting it out, and taping it onto the wall! It’s definitely a fun project for everyone to do, at very low costs. It’s also a great way for parents and cildren to spend time together decorating the house.
While this may seem like a very amateur way to decorate the walls of your home, there are actually millions of possibilities! One idea is to cut out many different shapes and abstractly group them together, or to cut out more common things such as cartoon characters, fruit, and letters. You can also combine materials with this project, such as different colored yarn, ribbon, or colored tape. For those who are less creatively inclined, even just creating a mosaic of different colored poster board papers onto the wall can brighten up a room so much.

To stick the paper onto your wall, simple masking tape will do the trick. You can also find inexpensive spray on adhesives at your local arts and crafts store. Just remember to open a window when using spray-ons indoors.
This project is definitely suitable for children’s rooms, toy rooms, and even in the college dorm, but with the same creative mind putting into choosing regular wall paper and home furniture, this project can really liven up any room in the house.
