Taking care of your laminate flooring does not necessarily have to be a back breaking tedious job as most people make it out to be. If you want to keep your laminate flooring looking good, all you need to do is ensure that it is cleaned regularly.
Use a broom to sweep up the dust from the floor and your floor will look clean. To keep the shine and ensure that the fine dust doesn’t settle you could use a mop to mop the floor every other day if there are kids in the home otherwise, if there aren’t too many people living in the home you could mop twice a week.
When mopping the floor ensure you don’t use harsh detergents or acids as this will spoil the laminate on the floor. Use a mild detergent when mopping the floor and you could follow it up with a dry cotton or sponge wipe to give the floor that shine.
The main problem with cleaning laminate flooring is the moisture. When cleaning make sure that you do not use to much liquid, make sure you squeeze your mop so that it is damp not wet. If you add too much water it can go into the cracks and cause the laminate to warp.
